I am a psychologist and writer living in Kingston, Ontario. I've recently completed a memoir, Fractured, about my experiences surviving an automobile accident, which left me with a spinal cord injury. It is an intimate portrayal of the physical and emotional experience of suddenly finding oneself disabled in an able-bodied world and explores issues I faced throughout my recovery and beyond. My work has been published in THIS Magazine, Geist, Descant, Ars Medica, and Taddle Creek. I have attended writing residencies at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Ireland; JOYA, Spain, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Sage Hill Writing Experience. I have received grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council to support my writing. |
